I am a 3rd year B.Tech student. I have working knowledge of C, C++, Python, PHP and JS. I have already completed my CEH and am looking for a opportunity to intern during my summer holidays.

Bangalore has big Infosec market. Get in touch with people there. The best bet could be by attending local chapter meets regularly. Google out for securityxploded, NULL & Garage4Hackers meets/guys there.

Hi again.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am actually from Kolkata. Since we don't have such opportunities down here, I was hoping to get one in Bangalore. I have sent out my resume to a couple of startups but am yet to hear from them.
And as was mentioned in one post here, most of the jobs happen via references.
I am not sure how to proceed next.

That is something I am not very sure about.

To refer me, one has to atleast know me in person. I try to attend the local OWASP chapter meets as much as I can.
And since, I haven't done any previous internship, so do not have many references.

So I am in a bit of confused state as of now. To create references, they need to see me working or atleast know me. And to get an internship(or even job), references are needed.
